Veneers in Turkey

The ultimate guide to Veneers in Turkey

Last fact-checked: 22 March 2023

Thinking about getting veneers to transform your smile but put off by high costs back home? Then consider traveling to Turkey, one of the leading destinations in the world for dental tourism.

Our network of background-checked dentists offers significantly more affordable care compared to the UK and USA, as well as impressive, long-lasting results.

In this Dental Departures guide, we walk you through everything you need to know before you go, including price comparisons, information about the procedure, pros and cons, reviews and recommended dentists for veneers in Turkey.

How Much Are Veneers in Turkey Compared to the UK and USA?

Veneers fall into the category of “cosmetic dentistry” as they are used for one thing, and one thing only: to enhance the appearance of your smile.

Typically, a thin shell of porcelain or composite material is placed over the front surface of a tooth and they can be used to correct (or ‘hide’) various issues, such as discolored, chipped, or misshapen teeth.

Take a look below to see how much veneers cost in Turkey compared to the USA and the UK:

Type of Veneer

Price in United States (in USD)

Price in the UK (in GBP)

Average Price in Turkey (USD/GBP)

Single Composite Veneer (Direct Bonding)

$800 - $1,000

£300 - £500

$100 - $200 (£80 - £160)

Single Porcelain Veneer

$1,000 - $2,000

£600 - £1,200

$200 - $300 (£160 - £240)

Single Zirconia Veneer

$1,700 - $2,200

£700 - £1,200

$150 - $250 (£120 - £200)

As you can see, the average price for a single dental veneer in Turkey is approximately 70% less than for dentists back home. (Please note that these are price estimates calculated at the time of writing, with currency exchanges subject to fluctuation).

How Much Can I Save on a Hollywood Smile Makeover in Turkey?

For those wanting to fix one or two teeth with veneers, a quick trip to somewhere like Istanbul or Antalya could be well worth it–with total price savings enough to cover flights, accommodation and other travel expenses (as long as you don’t overdo it!)

However, the real savings are realised by patients seeking full or partial smile makeovers, where anywhere between 6 - 20 veneers are placed on the upper, lower or both rows of teeth.

Typically, clinics in Turkey will offer “all-inclusive” smile makeover packages that can include airport pick-ups, ground transfers, X-rays and other scans, teeth cleaning/whitening and free accommodation in Turkey (typically between 3-5 nights).

Also referred to as a “Hollywood Smile,” here’s a rough idea as to how much you’ll save at one of our verified dentists in Turkey for veneers:

Smile Makeover Package

Price in the United States (USD)

Estimated Price in the UK (GBP)

Price in Turkey (USD / GBP)

Partial Smile Makeover with 10 Porcelain Veneers

$8,000 - $15,000

£6,000 - £12,000

$2,800 (£2,300)

Full Smile Makeover with 20 Porcelain Veneers

$15,000 - $30,000

£10,000 - £20,000

$5,000 ($4,100)

What Types of Veneers Are Available in Turkey?

Besides the number of veneers you plan to get, the material from which they are made and the application method are both important factors that determine the price.

The two standard types of dental veneers used by dentists in Turkey are:

  • Porcelain Veneers: Custom-made in a lab using a thin layer of porcelain, these are known for their durability, resistance to staining, and natural-looking appearance.

Porcelain veneers are more expensive than composite veneers and the process of getting them made can take a few days. On the upside, they last longer and require less maintenance.

  • Composite Veneers (Direct Bonding): Rather than being made in a lab, the dentist will apply tooth-colored composite (or “resin”) material directly to each receiving tooth; this is then shaped to create the desired appearance.

This direct bonding method is less expensive than other types of veneers and can often be completed in a single trip. The downside? They do not last as long as porcelain veneers and typically require more maintenance over time.

Other types of veneers in Turkey include:

  • Zirconia Veneers: Following a similar application method to traditional porcelain veneers, these are made from a tooth-colored ceramic material called zirconia that is known to be durable, natural-looking and able to last a long time.

  • Lumineers: These are a brand of ultra-thin, highly translucent porcelain veneers. Made from patented Cerinate® porcelain, Lumineers are often marketed as being a "minimal prep" option as little to no tooth reduction is needed before placement.

  • e.max Veneers: Made from a strong ceramic material known as lithium disilicate, these are popular amongst both dentists and patients thanks to their durability, natural-looking appearance and minimal tooth preparation before placement.

Why Choose to Go to Turkey for Veneers?

As shown above, price is almost always the main reason why patients head abroad for both dental and medical care – with the chance to save at least 50-70 % on the price of veneers in Turkey.

It is worth noting that as an elective, purely cosmetic procedure, most insurance companies will not cover dental veneer treatment, while national healthcare providers (such as the NHS) may only offer rebates for cheaper alternatives, such as dentures.

Asides from the savings, here are some other reasons to choose Turkey for your Hollywood smile makeover:

Quality Care in Turkey:

While not all clinics come recommended, our partner facilities throughout the country have all been thoroughly background-checked.

Before any clinic is listed on our site, our team carries out a range of background checks, as well as verifying professional memberships, education and professional history.

Our top dentists are all board-registered with the Turkish Dental Association, and many have completed part of their training abroad, becoming affiliates of international professional associations, like the World Dental Federation and the Academy of Aesthetic Dental Association.

Advanced Dental Technology (Same-Day Veneers):

Increasingly, many dental clinics (particularly those specialising in cosmetic dentistry) use CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacture) technology to custom-make your veneers onsite.

This means that instead of your dentist having to make impressions, send them to a lab and wait for the technician to make your veneer, the entire process can be carried out under the same roof, while you wait.

The 3D scans are uploaded onto a computer and your dentist can design your veneers while you are in the chair, with adjustments made on screen so you can get an immediate and accurate picture of what they will look like. Once you are satisfied, the touch of a button sends the images to an onsite laboratory, where a milling machine will fabricate the veneers and the dentist can fit them on the same day, or in other cases, just one or two days later. Voila!

Amazing Holiday Destination:

Turkey is a stunning country to visit (with or without a trip to the dentist) with a rich history, fascinating culture and no shortage of idyllic Mediterranean beaches.

As the process of getting veneers does not have any real downtime, patients can combine their dental treatment with a well-earned holiday and explore some of the country's renowned landmarks, especially those in Istanbul like the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace.

Convenience for International Patients:

We work with dentists in Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya and Izmir – all destinations that are easily accessible from across the UK, Europe and the Middle East. There are even direct flights from several major US cities, including New York, LA and Chicago, allowing patients based in North America to consider Turkey for veneers.

One last thing to note with our partner Turkish dentists: you will find that most of the staff speak excellent English, making it easy for international patients to understand the treatment process, what to expect after their veneers have been fitted and any other advice the dentist may have.

How Can Veneers Help Me?

Good quality veneers are extremely hard-wearing slivers of material that are affixed to the front of the tooth (or teeth), obscuring the original. Advantages include:

  • Can be used on broken, chipped, cracked, misshapen and discolored teeth

  • Versatility: they can be applied to a single tooth, or, if applied as a row of four, six or eight teeth, will completely transform your smile.

  • One of the simplest and most effective procedures that makes a real difference to your smile–without invasive surgery.

  • They can help boost your confidence and self-esteem by giving you a brighter and more symmetrical smile.

  • The treatment is painless, expedient and long-lasting

Am I a Suitable Candidate for Veneers?

It’s worth first noting that dental veneers are a purely cosmetic treatment and have no direct bearing on your overall health. With that in mind, it is important that your dental health is in generally good shape before you have treatment. Any underlying problems, such as gum disease, can compromise the efficiency of the veneers as they may not sit properly, or fall off if your teeth are crumbling underneath.

Ultimately, your dentist in Turkey will be able to determine your suitability following an initial consultation.

At most practices, if you are deemed unsuitable or decide not to proceed with treatment, there will be no charges – although do make sure to check this point with our Customer Care Team when booking.

What Does the Procedure Entail?

You will need to visit your chosen dentist in Turkey at least twice to complete the two-stage procedure. One or two additional follow-up appointments may be required in cases where adjustments or additional treatments are required.

Stage 1: Assessment, Treatment Planning and Preparation of Teeth

At your first appointment, the dentist will assess your mouth and teeth and run diagnostic tests, such as x-rays or CT scans. They will then ask you about your goals and expectations for the treatment.

After your suitability has been confirmed, your teeth will be prepared for the veneers. A small amount of enamel is removed from the front of the teeth where the veneers are being placed, so the front of the veneers is flush with your other teeth.

Once the teeth have been prepared, impressions of your mouth are taken and sent to the laboratory (either on-site or at an external location) where your veneers will be custom-made.

Your dentist will arrange an appointment for you to return for a fitting once the veneers are back from the lab. This usually takes a few days.

Stage 2: Fitting of the Veneers

On your second visit, usually a few days later or less, the custom-made veneers are attached using a special adhesive activated by light.

In order for the veneers to sit flush against the rest of the teeth, a small sliver of enamel will need to be removed from each receiving tooth, which is done using a specialized hand tool. This minimally-invasive procedure is completely painless as local anesthesia is used to numb the affected area–although it is common for patients to experience some sensitivity over the next few days.

It generally only takes only a matter of minutes for each veneer to be securely attached to the tooth, providing a permanent, strong and aesthetically-pleasing result.

Visiting Turkey as a Dental Tourist

Apart from the opportunity to save four figures on your dental care compared to back home, Turkey is a hugely popular holiday destination with plentiful choices to suit most interests.

Its coastlines–particularly along the country’s southern “Turkish Riviera” draw in millions every year for their beauty, with miles of pristine, sandy, white beaches fringed with turquoise waters and astounding backdrops of mountains, pine forests and ancient architecture stretching back centuries.

Historically, Turkey has seen five major empires come and go, so you have plenty to see from the Roman, Greek, Persian, Byzantine and Ottoman eras, especially in and around the major cities of Istanbul, Izmir, Antalya and the capital of Ankara.
