Dental Implants in Hanoi

The ultimate guide to Dental Implants in Hanoi

Last fact-checked 15 February 2020

Discover affordable, high-quality dental implants in Hanoi with Dental Departures. Vietnam’s beautiful capital city remained largely intact after the Vietnam War and has an attractive European ambiance and Parisian charm that invites further exploration.

Hanoi is less densely populated than many Asian cities, and while the serenity of synchronized tai chi takes place in wide green public spaces, the pandemonium that is the usual stuff of Southeast Asian city life is never far away. Behind the ancient walls of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, all activities are played out on the sidewalks–from gossiping to haircutting. It is an exhilarating combination that draws visitors back time and time again.

Amid the sleek city skyscrapers, sweeping boulevards and ancient Chinese pagodas you'll find high-quality clinics offering superb quality dental implants at a price you can afford.

Why Should I Get Dental Implants in Hanoi?

Considered to be the Rolls-Royce of teeth replacement, dental implants feel and look exactly like your own teeth. They are also beneficial to your overall health.

You will probably travel to Hanoi twice to complete the procedure. Some people who do not have viable jawbones may need three visits, which will also include bone graft or sinus lift procedure. Hundreds of patients, particularly those from the region, or Australia/New Zealand, have found they can more than pay for the cost of multiple trips by using discount airlines and taking advantage of the low cost of living in Vietnam.

With regard to the quality of the dental can you receive in Hanoi, providing you choose a trustworthy dentist, you are more than likely to receive comparable, if not better, care here than you would at home. Dental tourism throughout Vietnam is growing, and the best dentists here are accustomed to treating foreign visitors, with skills and qualifications on par with any Western dentist.

For our part, Dental Departures makes it our business to background check all our dentists. We look at criminal and legal records, as well as verifying dentist qualifications and professional memberships, for example from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, or the American Dental Association. With real patient reviews and clinic visits, we gain an accurate indication from several sources as to the reliability of our dentists.

Our patients give high marks to the clinics below:

How Long Will the Dental Implants Procedure Take in Hanoi?

The majority of people make two trips to Hanoi for their dental implants. The first trip will involve the insertion of the dental implant itself into the jaw. This is carried out by your dentist opening up the gum and drilling a small hole in the jaw. The implant is then inserted and the gum closed. The implant will not be visible.

A wait of three-to-six months is required for the healing process to take place, when your jaw bone will fuse with the implant in a process called osseointegration. This provides a strong platform for your replacement tooth (crown) to be attached.

When you return to Hanoi for your next visit, the abutment (the part which joins the false tooth to the implant) will be inserted. Your dentist will open up the gum line to expose the implant, insert the abutment and attach the replacement tooth (crown). You will be given a local anesthetic for this procedure, which shouldn’t take too long to carry out.
