About Dental Crowns in Sopron
Dental crowns are tooth-colored ‘caps’ that fit over your existing teeth to provide reinforcement following damage or decay, thus protecting the sensitive nerve in the center.
They do have other uses; for instance, crowns can be used to:
-
Fill in a large cavity following root canal therapy
-
Enhance the appearance of a tooth, hiding irregularities or discolouration
-
As part of a dental implant, a single crown or row of solid crowns may be placed as replacement teeth.
Our dental providers in the Hungarian city of Sopron offer a range of materials for crowns, with different advantages and different price points. These include:
-
Full porcelain
-
Full ceramic
-
Metal
-
Zirconia
-
Gold
-
Porcelain fused to metal
-
Composite mix

How Long Will I Need to Stay in Sopron for Treatment?
In theory, a single crown can be made and fitted on the same day, providing your chosen clinic offers in-house CAD/CAM technology for producing prosthetics while you wait.
When outsourcing locally, or undergoing more extensive treatment, you may need to visit the dentist two or three times over the course of three to five days.
The procedure for installing a crown is relatively simple and should take less than an hour when only one tooth is being treated. The enamel on the receiving tooth will need to be filed down slightly so that the crown sits flush with the rest of the teeth. This is carried out under local anaesthetic.
How Much Do Crowns Cost in Sopron, Hungary?
-
As the least expensive option, a standard porcelain fused to metal crown costs approximately EUR 200 (GBP 170) in Sopron.
-
A more durable zirconia crown costs around EUR 300-350 (GBP 250–300) in Sopron.
This represents a significant saving of between 50% and 70% compared to clinics in London or Manchester, for example, where a standard crown can set you back around GBP 800–1,000.
