What Is the All-on-4® Treatment Concept?

The All-on-4® treatment concept is a tooth replacement treatment that uses four implants per jaw to support an entire arch (fixed bridge) or teeth. 

It was the brainchild of Dr. Paulo Malo, a renowned implantologist from Lisbon, Portugal who developed this innovative technique, with over 150,000 patients having been successfully treated worldwide. 

While the All-on-4® treatment concept is still a specialist procedure, this treatment is now widely available—including in Southeast Asian countries, like Vietnam.

What Is the Process Involved in the Treatment?

The procedure involves consultation/treatment planning, insertion of implants, and placement of replacement teeth (bridge). During the consultation and treatment planning, the dentist will conduct a complete examination; review your medical and dental condition.

Once it is determined that this is a good option for you, any remaining teeth are extracted before the implants are surgically placed in the jawbone. Then, temporary replacement teeth are attached to the implants while waiting for the gums to heal and the implants to fuse with the bone (osseointegration).

After the healing process, which is around six months, the temporary teeth will be replaced with permanent ones upon a return visit to the dentist in Vietnam.

Your dentist will give you instructions on how to take care of your “new teeth.” Continue with your daily oral hygiene – brushing, flossing and rinsing with mouthwash and don’t forget to get dental check-ups.
