Why Choose Malaysia for Dental Care?

Malaysia is one of the top travel destinations in Southeast Asia, in part, because of its tropical climate, cultural and scenic attractions. It also offers superior, yet affordable dental treatment at dental clinics that have English-speaking staff and is a good option for a dental tourism holiday in an exotic location.

The country’s climate provides a perfect backdrop for outdoor activities, such as a River Safari on the Kinabatangan River. Visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites, check out the Petronas Twin Towers in the capital, Kuala Lumpur, or relax on a typical beach holiday in Langkawi or Penang.

Malaysia is fascinating and diverse and is perfect for a fantastic holiday while you are receiving your new teeth.

While most of the top clinics here are found in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur, some can be found in Johor Bahru (to the south, near Singapore) as well as the coastal resort island of Penang to the north.

What Is the All-on-4® Treatment Concept?

This dental implant treatment was developed by Dr. Paulo Malo from Portugal in the 1980s and uses four dental implants to replace all the teeth in the jaw (either upper or lower).

The implants are essentially replacement tooth roots that are embedded into the jaw bone. They are placed at a 45-degree angle, rather than at the 90-degrees that traditional implants are inserted. The rear implants are also longer, so these two differences increase the contact of bone-to-implant, making for a stable and secure base on which to place a complete arch of teeth.

This technique provides for a quicker treatment time than traditional dental implants: in most cases, extractions, the insertion of implants and the attachment of the temporary arch of teeth can be carried out in one session.

The treatment may also be suitable for patients with bone loss without having to undergo a bone graft procedure.

It should be noted that patients will need to return to Malaysia around six months later to have the permanent fixed bridge screwed on, completing the treatment.

Why Should I Consider Malaysia for the All-on-4® Treatment Concept?

Going to Malaysia for dental implants restores your teeth, saves on cash and allows you to enjoy a holiday prior to your procedure.

Clinics in Malaysia adhere to industry standards set by organizations like the Malaysian Dental Association (MDA) and the Malaysian Dental Council. The dentists are trained locally and internationally, and you'll find many implant specialists are members of international professional organizations, like the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

In line with their commitment to providing exceptional service, the best clinics in Malaysia invest in modern equipment and use the most advanced techniques in dentistry, such as 3D/CT scanning and digital x-rays.

The clinics listed with Dental Departures have all been pre-screened by us. We confirm dentist qualifications, professional memberships and carry out on-site visits. What Else Should I Know About the All-on-4® Treatment Concept?

1. The fixed bridge (containing a complete set of crowns) behaves almost exactly like your own teeth. Unlike dentures, you won’t have any worries about them slipping or falling out; you can smile, laugh, talk, and eat confidently.
2. Maintenance is easy. You need to keep up with your daily oral hygiene and get regular dental cleaning to maintain a healthy and beautiful smile.
3. The treatment process is relatively short, although do factor in at least two trips to the dentist each time (as detailed tests and evaluations are required).
4. This method may eliminate the need for a bone graft saving you both time and money.
5. There is evidence that dental implants can be beneficial to jaw bone health.
6. The cost in Malaysia is at least 50% less than at home.
